Day 21: ASM-R-U-Hypnotized?

Hello, and welcome to a new mini-blog, TUBE-NOSIS, it’s a place where for the month of January 2019, I’m going to watch a female hypnotist’s video a day and provide a rundown based on the watching experience.

Important:
Content reviewed in this blog is both vanilla, and erotic. While you should always approach anyone with respect and courtesy, please do not approach vanilla people about your kinks and fetishes as that is not the business they are in.

Day 21: Let Me Hypnotize You- Personal Attention ASMR Roleplay to Help You Sleep by Ancient Whispers ASMR

Video Link: Here

Length:
18:49

Was I hypnotized?
Somewhat surprisingly, YES, and it was super fun!

Why This Video?
As you may recall from the last few entries, we’re in repeat featured hypnotist territory, and one of the things I’ve realized that I like about this project is exploring new people.

The other thing that I like about this is the semi-featured concept that if you go through and watch all these videos with me, you’ll hopefully get to grow as a subject, or at least get a lot of practice going into trance.

So today while I was thinking of what to do, I saw this video and I thought:

Let’s Have an Experiment!!!

I know nothing about this woman, but let’s see if me thinking she’s “just” a role-play artist, or someone who isn’t really trained/into hypnotism can hypnotize me!
Why is this an experiment, how does this work?
If you assume someone can’t hypnotize you, you’re basically agreeing not to be hypnotized. If you’re curious about if someone can, you’re creating a more challenging situation.
And I’ll be honest here, I’m skeptical of anyone’s ability until shown/proven otherwise, so when I go into a video it’s always with a 50/50 openness and skepticism that they know what they’re doing.
I’l go into greater detail about this down in my end thoughts.

Is This Erotic?
No, no it is not. Now here’s the thing, I just followed her on Twitter, but what I’m not going to do is:
1. Mention her later when I tweet about this awesome video, because even though I had a very vanilla response to her work, this is still ostensibly a “porn site”.
2. Tweet at her that I really like her stuff. But since I believe in being supportive, I may send her an email with no mention or links to anything that says something positive and encouraging.

Are There Any Suggestions, Triggers, or Post Hypnotic Suggestions?
Nope. Also, there’s no real count up or anything, it’s supposed to help put you to sleep fo the night, so based on your suggestibility, pick your shots here.

What About The Rest of Her Channel?
She has a ton of ASMR videos which are not my thing but are totally A KINK for people, (<- WATCH THAT VIDEO, RIP Cracked’s video content) and one other thing with hypnosis in the title. ASMR isn’t my jam, I don’t get the tingles, I don’t think, and there is a level of intense intimacy that comes from these videos, but I get enough of that abstracted and manufactured intimacy with the hypnosis and JOI videos I watch.

Other Thoughts/About The Hypnotist?
So let’s talk a little bit about my favorite topic, no not boobs, the Fake vs. Real Hypnosis conversation!
So, let’s say that Relaxed Whispers is not a trained hypnotist. Maybe she actually is, that’s not the point.
How can someone who “doesn’t know” hypnosis succeed at hypnotizing you? You know, past the whole, “all hypnosis is self hypnosis” thing, which is important, buuuuut making that the sole focus would in turn mean: You can hypnotize yourself with anything, so nothing matters, and people with hypnosis training don’t actually matter.
Which is… to be blunt, not true and bullshit.
Hypnosis is a real skill with real technique, and that brings us to the answer about how you CAN be hypnotized by someone who is not a hypnotist (and who knows, she might be, in fact, I’ll go into detail about this later).

1. Confidence: It’s the basis of actually being able to put someone in a trance. If you don’t think you can, then you won’t. Being a hypnotist means believing you CAN hypnotize people.
So, someone who is confident in what they are doing is well on their way to pitting you in a trance.

2. A reasonable understanding of psychology/a background in meditation: If you know how the mind works, what people do and don’t respond to, and/or if you have practice going into a meditative state (see: guided meditation is hypnosis), then you can pretty easily put someone into a trance by going through the motions of what you know.

3. Acting: Here’s the fun one, if you can act like a hypnotist, complete with doing what thy do and saying what they say, then you can/will have a pretty easy time hypnotizing people all told.
Part of this is the fact that we learn by copying, and part of it is that acting is about communication, and good acting is about understanding the emotional truth of what you’re conveying -OR- how to at least convey it.

So, let’s go back to the idea that she’s a performer and not a trained hypnotist. Obviously what she is doesn’t matter if what she does works, and what she does in this video is not claim to be/do anything except provide an experience, which she does, which I enjoyed, and which I would recommend everyone reading this watch and try.

Buuuuuuut, could she be a real hypnotist? You know, aside from the fact she hypnotized me… a person watching a video a day this month to GET HYPNOTIZED…

I think she at least knows what she’s doing, and part of that has to do with one little trick of the hypnosis trade:
Pendulum motion.
Listen, this isn’t a-be-all-end-all test to apply to people, it’s more of a finesse point. The eye fixation and focus element of a swinging thing isn’t to have really big swings, it’s the opposite. Eye fatigue works as a convincer, and it happens when the focus object is (either/or/and) above the eye-line of the subject so they have to look up, and in motion so they have to use their eyes to follow it.
Small swings means more eye motion, especially because large swings motivate head movement, which negates the eye fatigue you’re trying to accomplish.
She’s pretty good about how she uses eye fatigue, and while that can be learned other places, such as meditation training (again, hypnosis), it’s not usually something you get lucky and stumble into.

And yes, I’ve tried other videos by other people, ones that didn’t make the cut because I didn’t respond to them, and no, I won’t mention names, but I had decided that since this was an experiment I was going to post about it even if I didn’t respond.

Back tomorrow with… who knows?
